Granny & Ch Wall Street Witchy Woman
Granny Left Us 9/4/02
On April 12, 1999, my mother, Marilyn, and I lost a good friend. Her name was
Greta, a Giant Schnauzer that was an absolute love. The week after her death
was one of the loneliest weeks of my life. She left such an emptiness in our
home and lives.
My mother had always wanted a White Standard Poodle, so I began to do some
research to see what I could learn about the breed. I found they were very
intelligent and loving and so began our quest for a puppy.
We went to a local breeders house and this beautiful standard poodle came
running through the yard and did a 360 degree flip in the air at full speed a
head. I was amazed at the speed and agility of the dog. We proceeded to look
at the pups and there was one in particular that really captivated me. Big
like Greta and absolutely adorable. He chose us and so he became our 'Bubba'.
The breeder told us that he was the pick and talked to us about showing him.
We thought what the heck!! Why not!! It sounded like fun. A few weeks later,
on a Friday evening, Bubba was outside playing and my Mother and I were
watching him and we thought that he needed a playmate to keep him company
during the day while we were working. We packed 'Bubba' into the car and off
to the breeders we went for the second time. There were 3 pups left, 2 boys
and 1 girl, and of course my mother wanted the girl who became our 'Chanel'.
About a month later I went a local handlers house, not having a clue, and
repeated to him what the breeder had told me, saying the 'Bubba' was my show
pup. He replied, he's a nice pup, but the female is your show dog. She is very
beautiful. So began the exciting world of dog shows for us. 'Chanel' was a
wonderful show dog. She finished in at 16 months old with 3 majors and several
BOV's. We proceeded with her as a special for 5 weekends and she won several
BOV and group placements all before 2 years of age. She was on animal Planet
January 2001, for winning the breed at the Cleveland Classic. Last year
'Chanel' was bred to CH Lake Cove That's My Boy, the top winning poodle of
all-times. She had 7 beautiful girls that are on their way to STARDOM !!
My mother and I are both Financial Advisors for a large warehouse out of New
York City. Our Chief Financial Strategist looks at the market from a different
approach, A THEME. What more fitting than Wall Street Poodles. That is how we
chose the kennel name of Wall Street Poodles.
